Summary

Under this piece of legislation, the Municipal Code will be amended to provide that despite the zoning authority given to municipalities and counties, the provisions of the Oil and Gas Act and the rules of the Oil Conservation Commission and the Oil Conservation Division of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department expressly preempt the local authority’s ordinances and rules with respect to “regulating the exploration, development, production and transportation of oil and gas and any associated remediation and reclamation activities . . ..”
