Summary

This bill provides for funding of the Forest Land Protection Revolving Fund to include revenue received by the Forestry Division of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department from the federal government or other state agencies for conducting forest and watershed management projects on lands that the federal government or other state agencies own or manage for forest and watershed management projects. Ant it provides that expenditures from the fund may be used to administer forest and watershed management projects.

A possible benefit of this bill may be additional and more focused funding for watershed management projects.

On February 4 the Senate Finance Committee amended SB 110 to remove the requirement that revenue received from the federal government or other state agencies and used to fund the Forest Land Protection Revolving Fund be from projects on lands that the federal government or other state agencies own or manage. The amendment also specifies that expenditures from the fund are subject to legislative appropriation.

A possible benefit of this bill may be additional and more focused funding for watershed management projects.
