Summary

This bill prohibits the use of drones to:

(1)    pursue, harass, drive or rally a protected species;

(2)    spot or locate a protected species or to relay the location of a protected species to another person; or

(3)    obtain information regarding the location of a protected species, which information is used to hunt or to assist in a hunt for or take the protected species.

 

A person violating these provisions is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction may be sentenced to imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed six months. . That person’s license, certificate or permit issued by the State Game Commission shall be subject to revocation.

 

The director of the Department of Game and Fish may make an exemption for the purpose of wildlife management.
