Summary

This bill defines “natural gas vehicle” as vehicle operated by an engine that primarily uses natural gas; and it provides for an increase in the weight limit for vehicles that are natural gas vehicles reflecting the weight differential between a natural gas fuel system and a diesel fuel system.

A possible benefit of this bill might be that it may encourage the use of commercial vehicles that are natural gas instead of diesel vehicles. A potential concern might be added wear and tear on the state’s highways caused by heavier vehicles.
