Summary

This measure requires the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority to make it easier for low-income households to participate in shared renewable energy facilities by providing special-access mortgage packages for individuals eligible for mortgages through the NMMFA.

 

This bill may be a positive step towards helping more people access electricity generated by renewable energy. That may have the result of reducing the State’s reliance on coal-fired power plants and may help to strengthen the State’s renewable energy industry.
