This bill would rename the “Colonias Infrastructure Act” as the “Colonias and Land Grants-Mercedes Infrastructure Act,” finding that both colonias and land grants-mercedes lack basic infrastructure, resulting in poor social, health and economic conditions.
Under the revised act land grants-mercedes would be eligible for the same infrastructure project funding opportunities as colonias.
A benefit of this bill might be improved infrastructure and conditions in those land grants-mercedes newly eligible for infrastructure project funding.
