Summary

This bill provides that a person who commits interference with a zoo animal is guilty of a petty misdemeanor. Interference with a zoo animal consists of intentional, unauthorized and unjustified entry into an animal enclosure or habitat at a zoo while an animal is present, or intentional, unauthorized and unjustified physical contact with a zoo animal.

A possible benefit of this bill might be protection from harm of both zoo animals, including endangered wildlife species, and those individuals who might otherwise be tempted to interfere with them.
