Summary

This bill would require that, By January 1, 2017, that portion of the most populous county within a conservancy district shall be divided into three compact single-member districts for the purpose of the districts’ representation on the board of directors of the conservancy district.

The single-member districts shall be as equal in acreage as practicable, with one director elected from and by the qualified electors of each single-member district.

A potential benefit of this bill might be that it would apportion representation among geographical areas of a county rather than potentially electing all the counties’ members from a more populous part of the county that has more voters.
