Summary

This bill provides that a New Mexico resident who is a veteran of the United States military or who is active duty military is eligible for a 50 percent discount on any game and fish license, permit or stamp purchase upon valid proof of service as determined by the State Game Commission.

It does not affect the free lifetime fishing and game hunting combination license that is available to a resident who is a 100 percent disabled veteran.

One concern might be the impact on the revenues of the Game and Fish Department.

On 2/12/15 the Regulatory and Public Affairs Committee amended HB 203 to change the effective date of the bill to April 1, 2016.
